Data notice and attributions
The demo databases mix real public data with made-up data. This is what each table is and where it comes from.
| Tables | What they are | Source and terms |
|---|---|---|
| balance_sheet, income_statement, cash_flow, shareholders_equity | Company financial statements, quarterly and annual, from 2006 to mid-2026. Real. shareholders_equity is an approximation of the filed table. | SEC EDGAR (XBRL filings), US public records |
| insider_transactions | About 2 million insider share transactions by company officers and directors. Real. They contain real people's names. No page of the demo shows the names, but a query on this table can return them. | SEC EDGAR, Form 4 filings, US public records |
| securities, index_membership | Companies and their index membership. Real. | Wikipedia, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 |
| macro_series, macro_observations, views pension_funds, us_ownership_by_sector | Economic time series. Real. | FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis |
| date_dimension | A calendar. | Generated |
| credit_cards, salaries, credentials | Cards, salaries and logins. Made up. They contain no real card numbers, no real people's pay and no working passwords. | Generated by us from a fixed seed |
| card_vault_archive, hr_salaries_export | Decoy tables that DBSheriff watches. Made up. | Generated by us |
Attributions we must show. Wikipedia content is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. The securities and index_membership tables are changed copies of Wikipedia's list of index constituents (columns selected and reformatted); if you reuse their content, the same licence applies to your copy. "This product uses the FREDĀ® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis." The demo is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the SEC, S&P Dow Jones Indices or any company named in the data. S&P 500 is a trademark of S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC, used here only to describe the data.
Real people in the data. insider_transactions lists names that come from public SEC filings. The demo's pages and documents do not display those names; a visitor's query on that table can still return them, as filed, and the demo adds nothing about those people. The filings are public records that we cannot change. If your name appears and you want to talk to us about it, write to support@dbsheriff.ai.
What visitors add. The statements you type are not part of this dataset, but they become public (see the privacy notice).
Software. The demo runs on open-source and licensed software, among them PostgreSQL and Caddy, under their own licences. Licence notices for any other engine are added here when it joins the demo.
